"Do I look pregnant to you?"

Dan wants to know when I will stop asking him that question.  I try to restrain myself but I am tired of looking chunky rather than pregnant.  After going back to teaching this week one of my colleagues asked me, "So how was your summer?  Did you have your baby?"  I just looked down at my stomach and patted it then look at her and responded, "Nope.  She is still in there."  She was shocked.  She said that I didn't look pregnant at all but at least she didn't say that I did look fat.  I used to cringe when pregnant women complained that they were "getting fat".  But I catch myself doing the very same thing occasionally.  I always knew I wouldn't be one of those women with the cute baby basketball bellies but I never guessed that at 75% through this pregnancy I still wouldn't look pregnant to the average person on the street.  Even my students who stare at me for 55 minutes straight everyday were surprised that I was pregnant.  I am trying to see the bright side of this phenomenon:  my back doesn't ache yet, strangers don't touch my belly, I don't get asked a million questions, etc.  This week I am wearing my most belly enhancing outfits! Or maybe I just need to get one of these:

You totally look pregnant! and super cute pregnant too!

I always say it difficult to "look pregnant" until the belly sticks out further than "the girls" up above it. :) it's really the only benefit to being "built small" haha - we look pregnant on day two! Since you are more proportionally figured, you're just now entering that zone.
also, any tops that kinda cut in or tie above that adorable baby in your tummy help sell the "yep, there's really a little someone in here" look.
eeeeeee!!!! I'm getting so excited for you to meet her and then us to meet her too. pretty sure we're going to have to schedule a CA visit sometime soon!

Yes, you look pregnant! You are adorable, too! I had the opposite problem and wished I had your problem. When I was 3 months pregnant, people asked when I was due and couldn't believe I was still in my first trimester. The best was when I was at Target, only 5 months along and an elderly woman was convinced that I had the wrong due date and needed to see ,y OB and I was going into labor any day! So many people insisted I needed another ultrasound to show I was having twins, and I wasn't even in my thrid trimester yet. Yes, I had the lil basketball belly, but it's not all it's cracked up to be; people you don't know grabbing you and rubbing your belly...trust me.;) I love that you were able to find tall pants, unfortunately they didn't make petite pants and I had to stretch out all my regular "stetchy" pants (which actually came in handy as post-partum pnats after I'd stretched them;))Most taller women I know show later. I used the excuse that at 5 feet tall, my babies had no where to go and that's why I was so big (it made me feel better to think that, at least:)It's always a "the grass is greener" scenario, isn't it? ;)

You look pregnant and very cute! You might not "show" as much because you're taller-- almost every tall person I've known shows less than short people. It's frustrating to hear people's comments when you're pregnant. I heard these kinds of comments on a regular basis: "How many are you having?", "Are you SURE you're not due earlier than your doctor thinks you are?", and (whispered or said in a low, shocked voice that they thought I couldn't hear) "WHOA." You look fabulous-- wear that baby belly proudly! =)
