Baby Shack #2: Anatomy Scan!

Excited that baby sister is on the way!
The anatomical proof (or lack there of)!
Can you tell we are happy about our good news today!?
Today we had our big anatomy scan with the ultrasound technician at 19 weeks and 1 day.  Our appointment was nice and early so we had the whole day to celebrate together as a family.  We dropped Miss Lena off with Grandma and headed over to our appointment.  Baby Shack looked great and measured right on schedule.  The heart rate was 150 and the baby is about 9 oz.  Then finally the opportunity arose and the technician got a nice clear look and we found out that BABY SHACK IS A GIRL!!!  We are so excited to have another girl!  A boy would be fine but now I get to use all my cute girly baby clothes again!

Counting pink and blue eggs!
They lost count and we had to just tell them the exciting news!
After our appointment we headed back to Grandma's house to pick up Lena and reveal our exciting news.  With Lena we showed up in pink t-shirts but this time Dan wanted to do something fun and different.  We got an Easter basket and filled it with pink and blue eggs.  My mom and Lena had to figure out if there were more blue or pink eggs and that would reveal the gender.  Lena loved the eggs (and obviously had no idea what was going on).  My Mom finally had to give up when Lena kept messing up the count and we just told her. It was a fun day sharing the news with everyone.  So many people thought we would have a boy so this baby surprised some of us!

View of our miracle girl!  The skeleton is now fully formed so she looks very skeletal!
A view of her face.  She was yawning a lot.
We spent the rest of the day working on Lena's big girl room and making various repairs in the nursery.  Lena climbed out of her crib for the first time today so we will move her over to her new bed soon.  Ever since I got my energy back a few weeks ago I have begun my organizing and nesting.  I remember quite well how swollen and tired I was in the third trimester with Lena so I want to make the most of this energy I have in the second trimester.  I will post some fun pictures of Lena's new big girl room and the cleaned up nursery soon!
One proud and excited Mama!

Yes, you look fabulous! And I'm so excited for you! My BFF has two little girls about the same age difference as Lena and Baby, and it's a lot of fun.

First off, you look amazing!! :) second, I'm so excited baby Shack is a GIRL!! I think sisters are wonderful so I'm so thrilled Lena and her will have each other!! :). We just moved Titus to a toddler bed last month. It's been fun (but a little sad to see him getting so grown up). Can't wait to see how cute her room turns out. :)

I had a 20 week u/a picture of Abel yawning too-totally cracks me up when babies do that in utero! Geez, this growing is exhausting... :)

Congrats! I am so overjoyed for you! While I was convinced this was a boy, I am so happy for you that this is a girl, and most importantly, a healthy baby! I LOVE being a big sister (just threw my little sister's baby shower) and I'm sure Lena will be a fabulous big sister! So happy for you!
