A few weeks ago we met our new fertility doctor that we will be working with to do our FET (frozen embryo transfer). It was an exhausting three hour meeting and physical examination but we are really excited to work with Dr. K. In February I will have some tests done to make sure my body is ready to accept the embryos and then it is just a matter of waiting for our match from Snowflakes. Our profile was sent out last Friday to a family for consideration. The average time it takes a couple to be matched is one month and then it will take another month or two to get the legal paperwork done and the embryos transferred to Dr. K's clinic. So the wait continues. I'm getting good at this.

The waiting is no fun - for sure!!! :(
yay- so excited for this next step :)
Why do you think the process is so much quicker through Snowflakes than through the NEDC? Not as long of a waiting list?
Snowflakes is an adoption agency and once our match is finalized and the paperwork is done they help coordinate the transfer of the embryos to the clinic and facilitate contact between the donor an adoptive families. With the NEDC you are using their clinic and their doctor so I think the wait comes from the medical side of things with NEDC. With Snowflakes you use your own doctor to do the FET. Since we live in CA it is better for us to stay in CA to do the FET rather than have to travel to TN and be at the mercy of one doctor's schedule who only works every other month with NEDC clients.
I wouldn't say that Snowflakes is quicker yet though. We just found out that they only send our profile out to ONE family at a time. So, it could take awhile.
It is like Jennifer says: The waiting is no fun!!!
I'm excited and feel that you're getting so close. You guys are so strong in so many ways. Your perseverance is amazing and encouraging to everyone who knows you.
Dr. K is THE BOMB :)
We are so excited for you! Thank you for keeping us updated on the process, we're praying!
