McKinley Jane - One Week Old
McKinley already turned one week old yesterday! She is proving to be a very easy going baby so far. Despite the fact that she loves to eat she has had a bit of a weightloss problem. She lost 11% of her body weight in the hospital. We got it up a little bit before we were discharged but at our pediatrician appointment on Thursday we learned that in two days since she was discharged she lost weight again and is one pound below her birth weight now.

Love those lips and those big eyes!

Kinley does this big brow furrow that is just so funny. Lena did the same thing too.
|
Baby Kinley Burrito- She loves to be swaddled with her hands near her face - also just like Lena.
On Friday I attended a breast feeding workshop and they reweighed her and she gained weight again so hopefully the new feeding plan is working well and she will be back to her birth weight soon. We feed every 2-3 hours by starting 15 minutes on each breast, then I pump, and then we supplement her with a syringe with my breast milk and formula as needed. It is a doable plan and we hope that in a week or two we won't have to supplement at all.

So so precious!!! My first child was a burrito baby too;) My last baby also lost weight, we had to have weight checks, feed every 2 hours etc however after the first week to 2 weeks we were on track and she is now 13 months old and still breast feeding. So be patient, not too hard on yourself. You all are in my thoughts and prayers ((HUGS)) and CONGRATULATONS again!!
That's pretty much what we were doing with Lucy, and it was worth it, but it was exhausting! I hope that you can get through this stage soon!
